How to Charge Your EV
Hey there, EV owner! First off, kudos on making the switch to electric. It's a game-changer, right? Now, let's chat about keeping that beauty charged and ready to roll.
So, you've probably noticed that while Tesla Superchargers and the CCS Rapid Charger network are great, they might not always be right where you need them. Enter Level 2 charging outlets. To find these, head over to Plugshare.com. Filter for J-1772, Type 2, Three phase, and Caravan Mains socket. Also, check out Chargefox, Chargenet, Chargepoint, and Other in the Networks section. You'll find a bunch of places to charge up.
Also, understanding the different plugs and sockets is key. We've got you covered with a rundown of the most common types you’ll encounter.
Available Plugs and Sockets
This table shows the most common socket, the power rating that they can supply and a rough estimate of added range per hour of charge.
Quick heads-up: the charger that came with your EV? It's perfect for 10A and 15A household sockets. But if you're hitting up spots with Charging Stations only and BYO cable, you might want to level up your equipment. Think about getting the Type 2 to Type 2 7kW cable or its big brother, the Type 2 to Type 2 22kW.
And our portable chargers? You can use them to charge your car conveniently at home or they can be super handy for those unexpected stops at malls, hotels, campground or your holiday accommodations...etc.
A quick graph to help you select the portable charger you need. Check out our detailed article on how to select your portable charger
You can click on the following charger to go directly to the product page.
Alright, that's the scoop. Just keep an eye on your battery and you're good to go.
Oh, and if you ever find something out of stock on our main site, swing by our Amazon page at https://amazon.com.au/inchargex. Might find some cool stuff there. Or if you live in Melbourne and would like to check out a sample of our chargers before purchasing, you can arrange an appointment and visit our warehouse. Safe driving!
